Hello
If you have reached this page, then you are an invited guest to our wedding in March of 2010, in Galle, Sri Lanka. We have set up this web page to try to keep people up to date on our impending nuptials and the many issues involved in flying out to a wedding halfway around the world (for most of you). We’re here to encourage to you to come to Sri Lanka and to try to make it a blast for you and us.
So, What Should You Do Right Now?
- First and foremost, please save the date … March 18, 2010.  We suggest arriving in Colombo before dinnertime on March 14, 2010. Wedding related events will take place between March 15 to 19.
Â
- You may have noticed that there is no official way to RSVP to the wedding. If you are interested in coming, please send us an email as soon as possible. We are happy to assist you with coordinating travel arrangements. Whether you are planning to come or not, we encourage you to sign our virtual guestbook.Â
Â
- Review the Sri Lanka Travel and Wedding Guide that we have prepared for your convenience. This document is a good start toward learning what Sri Lanka is all about. You can view the guide in several different formats:Â
- Click here to view the guide online in your Internet browser (where live links click through to other information sources) or,Â
- Click here to download the full document (with live links and graphics) in .PDF format; or,
- Click here to download the printer-friendly document (text only, no graphics) in .PDF format.
To view the versions in .PDF format, Adobe Reader is required. If you are unable to download or open this document, please feel free to contact Melissa at melissa@melissawoolf.com for further or alternate instructions. Consider this document “final” in that we will not be changing its content.
Â
- Please sign up for the wedding update email distribution list by using this form, or simply send an email to melissa@melissawoolf.com.  This webpage, and the email distribution list, will be the best way to keep everyone updated in a timely manner, as much of the required information for actual trip planning is not yet available. Signing up for this distribution list in no way represents an RSVP. But if you have even an inkling of interest, we need to know how to contact you.
Â
- Consider what else you might want to see while you are in that part of the world. Spending two full weeks, or longer, in Sri Lanka is quite easy. However, depending on where you are travelling from, other excursions can be surprisingly easy to incorporate (e.g. India, Dubai, Maldives, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Europe, to name a few).
Â
- Consider purchasing “The Rough Guide to Sri Lanka.”  Throughout our travels, we rely heavily on the Rough Guides and find them to be thorough, accurate, and compatible with our travel philosophy. The Sri Lanka edition in particular is much better than its Lonely Planet counterpart and other competing travel guides. Additionally, both Rough Guide and Lonely Planet are releasing new versions for Sri Lanka due out September 21 and August 1 of 2009 respectively. Both can be pre-ordered through Amazon.com for about $15 plus shipping and handling.Â
Â
- Take note of our contact particulars. Spectacle@spectacle-boat.com is the best way to reach us. Feel free to contact us any time with any questions that you might have. We also have an Australian mobile phone, and a Skype internet phone account. We would be happy to schedule a time-zone-appropriate phone call to chat. Â
Â
- Please don’t panic. We know you are busy. We are here to help you. And, after two years on the road (er, um, on the sea), we are world-class travel agents and come cheap.
Â
- Get excited! If you are interested and able to attend, we promise you a truly magical and memorable experience. And if you’re not interested or able to attend? It’s okay … we’re not offended! Please just be excited for us.Â
