Spectacle — The Boat

July 19th, 2006 by melissa

Spectacle is a 2001 Tayana 48, a center-cockpit, cutter-rigged monohull that is designed for the rigors of blue-water sailing.  For you saltier readers, detailed specs include:

Designer Robert Perry
LOA 48′
LWL 40′ 3″
Beam 14′ 6″
Draft 6′
Ballast 11,675
Displacement 35,000
Engine Yanmar 100 HP
Fuel Tank 300 Gallons
Water Tank 150 Gallons
Holding Tank 20 Gallons

Formerly known as Declaire, Spectacle is in immaculate condition due to her only other owners, Ken and Moira Gibson from Ireland/Canada. Ken and Moira took fantastic care of the boat, were the absolute perfect people from whom to buy a boat, and treated us wonderfully. When we get around to it, we’ll probably even have a Ken and Moira tribute page.
